Hi. I’m Daniel Eizans and possess no formal culinary training. That said, I have spent enough time in the kitchen with my mother (a fabulous cook in her own right) and members of my extended family to know my reductions from my roux. I created this blog to have regain a creative outlet for my writing and to share my passion for soulful cooking with anyone who might be interested.
When I’m not filling my small Michigan home with strange smells, I work full-time as a content strategist at a large advertising agency. I also have my own Web site where I maintain a separate blog focused on marketing, social media, content strategy and advertising. It’s also the home to my professional profile and social networking links.
Dr. Wife
If you begin reading this blog with any regularity, you’ll hear me refer to my partner in life. Dr. Wife is an OBGYN resident at a local hospital. She’s also my handler and best friend. Dr. Wife is snarky, good with a chef’s knife and loves chocolate. She’s also a great cook on the all-too rare occasions that I actually let her take over my cooking space. She’s mostly pescetarian, loves mushrooms, vegetarian dishes, organic foods, baklava and getting on my nerves by constantly monitoring my sodium intake.
